As I am sure you are all aware, events are progressing quite rapidly as we as a community try to get a handle on the covid situation in Sydney.

There is a lot of information out there and this update is to bring all of that information together for you.

Again, I know that you all know what is at stake and that you are all doing your best to do the right and keep our community.

This information is to help you keep up to date with the latest health measures. Please keep safe and look out for one another.

 

How to contact my office

To protect you, each other and the community, my office has introduced new arrangements with assisting constituents. We will still be available to assist you with your enquiries.

But we ask that you contact us by phone on 9587 1555 or email at linda.burney.mp@aph.gov.au.

We are simply ceasing face-to-face interactions until restrictions are lifted, in line with instructions from the federal government.

These measures are to protect the health of my team so that we can keep providing you with assistance during the coronavirus pandemic.

HEALTH INFORMATION

Greater Sydney restrictions

You can find the latest public health restrictions from NSW Health: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules/greater-sydney

Stay at home orders apply to Greater Sydney.

You must stay home. Only leave your home if you have a reasonable excuse.

If you must leave home, stay within your local area. Do not travel outside your local area if you can avoid it.

Limit your physical contact with people you do not live with. See the restrictions for visitors to a residence.

You must carry a face mask with you at all times when you leave your home in Greater Sydney.

 

Reasonable excuse to leave home

NSW Health also outlines the limited circumstances in which you are allowed to leave home: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules/greater-sydney

This includes obtain food or other goods and services.

You can leave to provide care or assistance to a vulnerable person

You can only leave home to work if you cannot reasonable work from home.

If you live in the Canterbury-Bankstown local government areas, you can only leave for work if you are an authorised worker: https://www.nsw.gov.au/covid-19/rules/authorised-workers

You can leave home for education if it is not possible to do it at home.

You can exercise and take outdoor recreation within your local government area or up to 10km from your home.

And you can go out for medical or caring reasons, including obtaining a COVID-19 vaccination.
