Labor to invest $520,00 for health infrastructure in Airds

An Albanese Labor Government will invest $520,000 in infrastructure and equipment for Tharawal Aboriginal Corporation Aboriginal Medical Service (TACAMS).

Labor’s commitment will mean Tharawal can expand the services available to the community with renal and ECG facilities, and upgraded equipment.

The Macarthur community is currently home to over 5,800 Indigenous people, and the total population of the region is estimated to grow to 600,000 by 2036.

TACAMS currently offers a range of programs, including through the provision of allied health services, dental care, and a range of outreach services in the fields of mental health, exercise and nutrition.

Labor’s investment will mean Tharawal can meet the medical needs of their growing community.

An Albanese Labor Government will invest in the health infrastructure Macarthur and the broader Australian community needs.

COMMENT ATTRIBUTABLE TO LINDA BURNEY:

The Coalition simply haven’t done enough to make sure our community has the health infrastructure we need.

Labor will make sure the Indigenous and wider community gets the health care we deserve.

First Nations people face some of the highest levels of disadvantage and the poorest health outcomes in Australia. Labor’s investment is an important step in Closing the Gap.

COMMENT ATTRIBUTABLE TO MIKE FREELANDER:

“Labor understands that preventative healthcare has been underfunded for too long and that preventative healthcare measures undertaken by Tharawal are massively important for our region.

I thank Linda and the Labor team for providing such well targeted support for Tharawal and Macarthur. This will go a long way in providing direct and much-needed medical care.
