Inner South West jobs hardest hit by Morrison Vaccine Bungle

Inner South West Sydney has been the hardest hit by job losses arising from the lockdowns caused by the Morrison Government’s vaccine bungle.

As Sydney’s COVID-19 health crisis deepens, working families across the city are hurting as a direct result of the Morrison Government’s 18 months of failures on vaccines, quarantine, and economic supports.

New ABS data shows that payroll jobs across Sydney and the surrounding areas have fallen since June 26, when our community was plunged into lockdown because of the Prime Minister’s incompetence.

The hardest hit: Inner South West Sydney with a 13.7 per cent decline in payroll jobs.

South West Sydney is a close second at 13.5 per cent. Sutherland has endured a 7.9 per cent decline.

This data doesn’t capture the impact on self-employed workers, who have also been hit hard by these lockdowns.

These devastating job losses are the price our community is paying for the Prime Minister’s mistakes.

The Prime Minister’s botched vaccine rollout is hurting workers and small businesses and the Australian economy is bleeding hundreds of millions of dollars a day and billions of dollars a week as a direct consequence.

For eighteen months Labor has been warning that the nation’s economic recovery is hostage to the vaccine rollout.

We can’t have a first-rate jobs and economic recovery with a third-rate vaccine rollout.

The Prime Minister’s bungled vaccine rollout is risking lives, risking jobs and risking the recovery.
